About Memory Deck
Memory Deck is an educational software development company that is dedicated to creating applications that make learning fun while reducing the time it takes to learn things. We specialize in custom flash card apps for the Web and mobile platforms including the iPhone, iPod Touch and Android Operating Systems.
Ian Gordon (CEO, Publishing Guy)
Ian is an entrepreneur who hasn't had a "job" in more than 10 years. Despite this fact, he still manages to work more than 60 hours a week. He founded and later sold a custom textbook publishing company where he helped college professors create their own textbooks. He has spent much of his professional life helping teachers create tools that help them teach, and providing students with tools that help them learn while saving them money. He currently lives in Toronto, Ontario, and when he's not in front of his computer, you might find him out back building furniture, working on an old car or trying to keep up with his wife and two young daughters.
Shaun Noonan (CTO, Tech Guy)
Shaun is a technical jack-of-all-trades-master-of… a few, actually. He has a long career in Unix system software development and network management and has been working with the iPhone SDK since it was first released. Shaun has successfully launched diverse new media educational training programs ranging from language podcasts to technical video training programs. At any moment, you may find Shaun coding software in a variety of languages, recording a language podcast, building a robot or climbing a rock wall. He currently lives in Melrose, Massachusetts with his wife, cat and too many Apple products.
Ian and Shaun met through an on-line business networking group. They both have a shared interest in teaching and helping people achieve success and using new media to deliver quality, accessible information. They have collaborated on many projects, and when they started talking about using mobile platforms like the iPhone to deliver smart flash cards that helped students learn quicker, Memory Deck was born.
The funny thing is that though they have known each other and collaborated for years, and formed a company together, Shaun and Ian have never met in person. A small oversight they hope to correct soon. At Memory Deck, we love technology and we are very much a modern company. Using on-line collaboration tools and good old fashion hard work, we hope to create a company that makes outstanding products for years to come.
